It’s quite tricky writing about OCD for young people as some of the discussions, especially those surrounding intrusive thoughts, can feel quite adult in nature. On the other hand, OCD is often helped by learning as much about the condition as possible, so we find ourselves in a bit of an in-between spot. If you’re a young person visiting this space, or an adult walking alongside one, please take a moment to read our letter to you. It’s a gentle guide to help you find what you need here, and to make sure this little corner of the internet feels safe, helpful, and just right for where you are.

CREATIVE
SPACE

It can sometimes be helpful to imagine our mental health condition, such as OCD, depression, anxiety, as a character! It helps us because it encourages us to see the condition as something outside of who we are and it can help us practise skills such as compassion, and compassion is always helpful when it comes to feeling better!
